THE MARY CURTIS BOK ZIMBALIST CONCERT

A Performancy by the Curtis on Tour Ensemble

Vivaldi The Four Seasons (Quattro Staggioni)

Featuring violin soloists Jung Min Choi, Nadir Khashimov, Ye-Rang Kim and Marié Rossano

Piazzolla Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas

Soloist Elissa Lee Koljonen, violin

The Rockport Opera House comes alive with a rich program of contrasts exploring the four seasons of the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Vivaldi’s best-known work Le Quattro Stagioni (The Four Seasons) conveys the character and sounds of each season. This cherished piece of Italian Baroque music is juxtaposed with Piazzolla’s Estaciones Porteñas, also known as The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, a tango cycle written for chamber ensemble.

Distinguished Curtis Institute of Music protégés, alumni and faculty come together to celebrate the varied themes of the four seasons with violinist Elissa Lee Koljonen, heralded for her "note perfect finesse and interpretive flair" (Strad Magazine) and the immensely talented Curtis on Tour Ensemble.
